Tamlin Homes has custom designed a fabulous hybrid timber frame for a project on Vancouver Island, close to Black Creek, BC. This home features stunning exposed Douglas Fir timbers in the great room area of the house. We test fit the timber in our timber manufacturing plant in Langley about a month ago to ensure they fit perfectly and were exactly as the design called for. The home is 1,691 sq. ft. in total on one floor, with a 5′ crawlspace. It will be constructed of high-quality components and will be nothing less than spectacular. The floor system of the home is being constructed now, and the timbers and panelized wall system will be shipped this week. The walls will go up quickly as they are panelized and then we will send one of our timber frame installation teams over to build the structure. This should only take a day or two at the most. We find one of the quickest way to construct, is to use pre-manufactured components such as panelizing. This works especially well on projects that we consider to be remote builds (builds that are not in the lower mainland area). Tamlin is considered to be a remote build specialist and we have built on most of the Gulf Island, Sunshine Coast, Whistler, Cariboo, Kootenays, throughout the Interior of BC, as well as Vancouver Island and as far away as Denver CO, and Ohio USA. We have even built in Hawaii and Japan!
