In 2010 our head office was constructed in Aldergrove (Langley), British Columbia. The 4000 square foot award winning timber frame office was designed as a work centre for our Tamlin designers, project managers and sales staff. Although we are happy to say that we have outgrown this facility, it is with some sadness we will be moving on. The materials include handcrafted Douglas fir timbers with mortise and tenon wood connections, pre-finished custom hemlock and fir doors, energy efficient windows, exterior western red cedar sidings, stain grade natural wood casings, pre-finished hardwood flooring, custom laminated wood stairs, and many other unique finishes.To ensure our facility meets eco-friendly – green building, energy efficiency and healthy housing criteria, Tamlin invested in a significant number of construction and product upgrades within the design of the building. Highlights include storm water retention system, eco-friendly parking lot drainage system, geothermal heating and cooling, organic high density spray-foam insulation, reclaimed and recycled flooring’s, engineered floor beams and laminated lumber, “silent floor system” ,low VOC stains and paints, energy star rated windows, maintenance free 50 year metal roofing , natural cedar and douglas fir finishes, cultured stone accents, energy efficient lighting, heat recovery HRV ventilation system … and more.
The Tamlin commercial facility was designed by Chris Lynn, one of the partner/owners, who meticulously balanced the conceptual, functional, and practical design ideas with stringent commercial building code requirements for construction.
