Tamlin was selected to supply a ranger Cabin for BC Parks in Cape Scott Provincial Park on Vancouver Island, BC. This project was especially tricky as it was being transported to site first by truck, then by helicopter. We had to ensure all lifts were between 750-900 lbs each so the helicopter was able to handle them. The lifts also had to be waterproofed for the harsh conditions on the coast. The location of the cabin is on an area that will get battered by rain, wind and storms regularly. The cabin will house BC Park Rangers and occasional campers for only four months out of the year. It was constructed to be bear resistant with double out swinging steel doors, on either end of an adjoining hallway. This was so that if a bear broke through the first set of doors, it would then have to break through a second set. Tamlin shipped this to be constructed on a Diamond Pier system that was heli-lifted in and then the piers were anchored one by one deep in to the coastal sand.
