Tamlin recently shipped a prefabricated custom home package to Washington, USA. This 3,700 square foot home included a timber porch, timber entry and vaulted ceilings.
Tamlin precut all the timber components which were test fit, and then taken apart and labelled for easy assembly on site. Given the location of this home on the West Coast, careful attention was given to seismic connection details with the structural engineer.
Some of the engineered trusses were huge and spanned up to 40 feet, but Tamlin was able to load these onto two 53 foot trucks. Factory prefinished cement board lap siding was used in combination with some stone work on the exterior. Tamlin even shipped color samples of prefinished siding, trim and window frame colors to the client so they could check the exact color matches ahead of time. The house package was shipped in June and with Tamlin’s fast assembly system the owner hopes to have the house to move-in ready condition in November of this year.
