Tamlin’s West Coast Contemporary, pre-fabricated house packages have all been designed to take advantage of views. From lakes to oceans to mountains, if you have a view property these homes are for you.
This Discovery Ridge 1319 is built on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, tucked away on the North Side of Pender Harbour. This home features 15-foot ceilings with windows reaching floor to the ceiling and two patio doors to open up the living and dining rooms to the deck for indoor outdoor living. The “grade level” was built up so there is an easy walk out to the deck. The home has been built to blend in with the natural surroundings with the beautiful natural stone deck and the balance of natural douglas fir post and beam elements, durable western red cedar siding, and low-maintenance cement board siding.
Due to advantageous site conditions, a 400 square foot 6-foot-high basement storage area, accessed from outside, was included in this construction project so the owner had plenty of space for recreational equipment.
The interior of the home has an open concept living, dining and kitchen. As with quite a few of this style of home a spacious walk in pantry is part of the plan as well as a large laundry room. The master bedroom has its own covered porch, sliding patio doors and a large 4 piece bathroom with the tub placed so that you can enjoy the view. There are two more bedrooms and a bathroom on the opposite side of the house with one bedroom also having patio doors onto a smaller covered porch area.
Tamlin is loving the colours our client chose for this home. The clean white walls highlight the darker beams, floors and black windows. Our client decided to have the windows prefinished at the factory black both on the exterior and interior. We think this was a very good choice as they really stand out and frame the views on the interior and look great against the western red cedar and cement board on the exterior.
