One of Tamlin Homes Reclaimed Douglas Fir Log Cabin is moving to Cortes Island today. This fabulous solid wood post and beam cabin is constructed of all reclaimed Douglas Fir that has been re-milled here at our facility.
The foundation, septic and power are completed on the lot on Cortes Island and waiting for the first shipment to get there. The crew is already there, ready and waiting to put it together. The entire cabin will go out dismantled on 2 truckloads with the first leaving today. It will arrive on Cortes Island mid day tomorrow (May 2nd, 2013).
The pre-packaged, labelled and organized sections come with detailed directions for the crew for easy assembly on site. This photo is of the cabin while assembled in our facility in Aldergrove – each piece was labeled during dismantling and then packaged according to sections for delivery.
This is the first truckload of two that will leave Tamlin Homes en-route to Cortes. Once everything in this load is assembled, then the second load will go. The entire weather tight lock up shell should only take a couple of weeks.
Cortes Island is located in one of the most pristine and untouched wilderness regions of the Pacific Northwest. It is separated from Vancouver Island (6 hours total) by two ferries, from the Sunshine coast by water taxi or private craft, and from Vancouver by a short sea-plane ride.
