A Home-Owner-Builder’s Experience (E. Balvanz)
Our award-winning Gambier Series of contemporary homes have been designed to maximize the views from our clients’ properties and this setting in southwest Colorado near the San Juan Mountain was perfect. The prefabricated timber house package consists of the 2,060 square foot house and a 1,073 square foot garage/workshop.
Tamlin worked closely with the homeowner who was also a local builder to custom design his family’s home. Because Tamlin has decades of residential building experience, we truly understand the importance of design accuracy and construction efficiency. The owner was thrilled with the speed the plans were developed but also how fast approvals came through for building permits. After the house package was delivered on site the shell of the home went together exceeding expectations. Ready to assemble factory made components (panelized walls, premade engineered trusses and precut timber frame) significantly reduced construction time.
